The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, has abruptly dismissed all commissioners and disbanded the State Executive Council with immediate effect.
The move is intended to allow Commissioners who wish to run for elective offices in the 2027 general elections to step down from executive roles without conflict.
Governor Zulum has instructed all former Commissioners to transfer the management of their ministries to the Permanent Secretaries by Friday, April 3, 2026.
He also expressed gratitude to the Commissioners for their service, dedication, and contributions to the progress of Borno State during their time in office.
