Lagos 2019: Jimi Agbaje To Contest Under PDP
Renowned Pharmacist and Politician, Mr Jmi Agbaje is set to contest for governorship again under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos in the forthcoming general elections.
A source in Agbaje camp confirmed the development to LagosPost this evening.
Agbaje is said to have obtained the governorship nomination form and expression of interest of the PDP and subsequently submitted the same to the party in Lagos.
The businessman will be contesting against the incumbent Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressive Congress.
This would be the third time Agbaje is contesting for governorship in Lagos. He contested in 2007 on the platform of Democratic People Alliance (DPA), PDP in 2015 and again PDP in 2019.
Contrary to the rumour in the media earlier in the week that the Oil Magnate and Managing Director of Forte Oil, Mr. Femi Otedola has accepted to contest in 2019 under the platform of PDP, the source in Agbaje camp hinted that the report is not true adding that Otedola is a businessman and he’s not interested in Lagos politics for now.
Meanwhile, looking at the situation in Lagos politics now, this time might be the right TIME for Agbaje to get it right. But his party and people of Lagos will decide on who will be the next governor of Lagos State.
