In the key power and infrastructure sector, we have partnered with the Government of Uganda on the USD1.6 billion Karuma hydroelectric power plant that is set to transform the east African country’s economy and the lives of its people. Also, we acted as the sole lead arranger in providing a USD120 million financing package to the Zimbabwe Power Corporation, which will power up energy supply in Zimbabwe and the region. In the telecommunications sector, Standard Bank partnered with Liquid Telecom on their ZAR6.55 billion acquisition of Neotel to create the largest, independent pan-African fibre network, driving greater connection across Africa.
The Africa Investors’ Conference connects the international investment community to local opportunities. In our commitment to the long-term growth and development of Africa, and as a bank that calls Africa its home, Standard Bank is proud to host this flagship event that is connecting Africa to the world and the world to Africa. #InvestInAfrica #AICLondon
